We are seeking a creative and technically versatile Game 2D Generalist to bring our unique worlds to life. This role involves working closely with game designers to craft striking 2D visuals, from character and environment design to UI/UX and marketing assets. The role starts at 32 hours per week during a 2-month probation period, increasing to 40 hours per week after successful completion.
Responsibilities
Create high-quality 2D game-ready assets including characters, environments, props, and UI elements.
Contribute to the overall art direction and help maintain a consistent visual style across the game.
Collaborate with designers and developers to prototype and implement visual ideas that support gameplay and storytelling.
Design and optimize UI/UX layouts for various platforms (PC, mobile, console).
Assist with marketing assets like some simple animations, VFX, or motion graphics as needed.
Must-Haves
3+ years of experience in 2D game art, illustration, or equivalent.
Strong in stylized aesthetics or anime aesthetics.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of 2D work (e.g. concept art, UI, environment art, character design, frame animation).
Proficiency in industry-standard 2D tools (e.g. Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, SAI, etc.).
Experience in 2D animation or motion design (e.g. Spine, After Effects, Unity Animator).
Experience in UI/UX design.
Basic understanding of Unity or other game engines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for indie games and storytelling through visuals.
Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity with Unity's UI system and 2D pipeline.
Basic understanding of 3D assets creation.
Experience working in a small, multidisciplinary game team.
